Just a small romantic/sentimental bit of word and thought play that pulled tight the coiled gears and sprang from the neural paths. It is a non-standard Haiku of 6-7-6 syllable form and is constructed of several mingling literary devices that interact with (to my mental ear, at least) interesting effect. I note that while I went with the word “find” here, the words “draw” and “share” are still currently in competition for the final spot. I find that each brings its own slightly different shade of nuance, all of which I'm inclined to like. I'm also still considering the use of "Clockwork Love" for the title. My present thoughts are that it is more illustrative, and possibly a more artful construct as a thing in and of itself, but that it captures less of the poem's actual, central thrust; that is, that it captures more of the shape, but less of the movement and soul.
Edit: I originally penned this one using the word 'different', but also loosely glanced some consideration at the word 'kindred'. With the passage of some time and review, 'kindred' has come to settle into that space. It is by far the more appropriate and fitting word, given the metaphors and relationships in play. Clock hands... human hands (perhaps with right matched to left, mirrored fingers twined)... they are never quite identical, wherever they might come from and to whomever they might belong, but they are always far more the same than different.
